Basics of use

How much does Nextbike cost and what plans are available?

Depending on the system, available tariffs and prices may vary. We typically offer monthly and annual subscriptions in addition to a basic ride fee. In many cities there are also special conditions for public transport subscribers and students. You can read what tariffs are available on the system’s website under the tariffs option. If you don’t know the system’s website, use the location search.

Subscriptions are usually not automatically renewed.

Rates and subscriptions usually only apply to the first bike, if multiple bikes are rented at the same time. You can also find information about this on the website of the system in question.

How to avoid a €30 fine for an improper return?

If you have returned the bike improperly, you can avoid the usual €30 fee by re-renting the bike and returning it properly. Consecutive rentals of the same bike will be combined into single rental.
This means that the final rental period is calculated from the time the first rental starts and the time the second rental returns. The break between two rentals is then also added to the rental time. The €30 fine will be removed when you return the bike to an official station.

Where can I rent bikes with my nextbike account?

With a nextbike account you can use almost all nextbike connected bike sharing systems around the world. In Croatia, you can rent bicycles in more than 40 cities or municipalities.

However, some systems require special registration for the appropriate system. This applies to MVG-Rad Munich, VAG_Rad Nürnberg, Mol Bubi Budapest / Hungary, Sitycleta / Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Bilbaobizi in Bilbao / Spain. In some systems, bicycles can be rented without re-registration, but only through a local application. This applies, among other things, to Veturilo Warsaw / Poland.

What happens if I return my bike outside of an official station?

If you return your bike outside of an official station, a service fee of at least €30 will be charged. More information about service fees can be found on the system’s website.

Where can I return the bike?

Bicycles can only be returned to official parking stations, which may have a physical sign or be virtual. You can easily see where the official parking stations are located on the location map in the nextbike app.
Bicycles can only be returned to the system where they were rented. Out-of-town returns may be subject to an additional service fee.
